Membership in the VCTC provides:
  • Mutual Support of teen centers statewide. The VCTC has quarterly meetings that offer centers opportunities to come together, share information and problem solve. This supports statewide coordination of services and best practices.
  • Training and Technical Support. The VCTC sponsors trainings in areas such as youth work, prevention, and administration. These trainings are free to VCTC members and associates. The Coalition also provides technical support in areas of grant writing, fundraising, and teen center systems and operations.
  • Information and Resources. The VCTC works to acquire and distribute resources to teen centers including informational brochures, resource directories, funding opportunities, statewide trainings, conferences, and regional, statewide and national policy information affecting teens and teen centers.
  • Funding Information and Opportunities. All centers must fundraise individually to survive. The VCTC itself provides limited capacity building and training funds dependant upon availability. The Coalition also provides information and notification of opportunities as they arise. The Coalition works with members to fundraise individually and statewide to supplement teen center budgets.
  • Statewide Voice for Teens and Teen Centers. The Coalition members have many common goals for their centers and communities. The VCTC's unified approach helps centers to advocate for and meet these goals.

Membership with the VCTC is free and open to all teen centers in Vermont. Teen Centers can be a part of the Coalition by becoming a "regular" member or an "associate" member. To be a regular member centers must meet the VCTC's Common Standards. Only regular members can receive funding directly through the VCTC.

To become a regular member, complete a membership application including a description how your teen center meets each of the VCTC's Common Standards of operation.

To become an associate member, check the "associate" box and complete as many of the sections of the membership application as possible.
